Overseas, Asian stocks were trading mixed as investor caution prevailed ahead of the release of first-quarter corporate earnings. US stocks were little changed on Thursday as growing anxiety over a global economic slowdown offset upbeat data and investors waited for earnings season to kick into high gear.
Back home, key equity indices ended with small gains after a lackluster trading session yesterday, 11 April 2019. The Sensex rose 21.66 points or 0.06% to settle at 38,607.01. The Nifty 50 index rose 12.40 points or 0.11% to settle at 11,596.70.
The trading activity on that day showed that the foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 476.51 crore yesterday, 11 April 2019, as per provisional data released by the stock exchanges.
