Lending major HDFC Bank has formed a committee to find a successor to Aditya Puri, the current Managing Director of the Bank.
Accordingly, Puri's tenure as the bank's MD ends on October 26, 2020. He has been the Managing Director of the Bank since September 1994.
The committee will comprise Shyamala Gopinath, Sanjiv Sachar, M.D. Ranganath, Sandeep Parekh, Srikanth Nadhamuni and Keki Mistry, as representatives of Housing Development Finance Corporation.
"Aditya Puri shall act as an advisor to the 'Search Committee'," the bank said in a regulatory filing to the BSE.
"The 'Search Committee', over the next few months, shall evaluate internal and external candidates to ensure smooth transition."
Puri holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Punjab University and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Prior to joining the bank, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Citibank, Malaysia from 1992 to 1994.
