Coal India Ltd rose for a fifth straight session today. The stock is quoting at Rs 240.95, up 3.57% on the day as on 12:44 IST on the NSE. The benchmark NIFTY is up around 0.47% on the day, quoting at 10914.25. The Sensex is at 36206.05, up 0.39%. Coal India Ltd has added around 9.55% in last one month.

Meanwhile, Nifty Metal index of which Coal India Ltd is a constituent, has added around 5.41% in last one month and is currently quoting at 2922.7, up 2.17% on the day. The volume in the stock stood at 58.83 lakh shares today, compared to the daily average of 87.59 lakh shares in last one month.

The benchmark March futures contract for the stock is quoting at Rs 236.75, up 3.25% on the day. Coal India Ltd is down 21.51% in last one year as compared to a 6.49% gain in NIFTY and a 21.76% gain in the Nifty Metal index.

The PE of the stock is 9.51 based on TTM earnings ending December 18.
