Among the other constituents of the index, JSW Steel Ltd decreased 3.06% and Vedanta Ltd lost 2.71% on the day. The S&P BSE Metal index went down 19.73 % over last one year compared to the 10.29% surge in benchmark SENSEX.

Steel Authority of India Ltd has added 2.52% over last one month compared to 2.88% gain in S&P BSE Metal index and 3.58% rise in the SENSEX. On the BSE, 1.8 lakh shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 19.62 lakh shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 88.8 on 14 Jun 2018. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 44.1 on 11 Feb 2019.
