Among the other constituents of the index, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd decreased 2.84% and Steel Authority of India Ltd lost 1.98% on the day. The S&P BSE Metal index went down 16.83 % over last one year compared to the 4.8% surge in benchmark SENSEX.

JSW Steel Ltd has lost 8.87% over last one month compared to 6.14% fall in S&P BSE Metal index and 5.98% rise in the SENSEX. On the BSE, 57365 shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 1.9 lakh shares in the past one month. The stock hit a record high of Rs 427.3 on 21 Sep 2018. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 237.9 on 14 Dec 2017.
