Coal India Ltd gained for a fifth straight session today. The stock is quoting at Rs 270.85, up 1.46% on the day as on 12:44 IST on the NSE. The benchmark NIFTY is up around 0.05% on the day, quoting at 10603.4. The Sensex is at 35218.5, down 0.05%. Coal India Ltd has slipped around 0.68% in last one month.

Meanwhile, Nifty Metal index of which Coal India Ltd is a constituent, has slipped around 0.09% in last one month and is currently quoting at 3462.05, down 0.59% on the day. The volume in the stock stood at 21.04 lakh shares today, compared to the daily average of 58.02 lakh shares in last one month.

The benchmark November futures contract for the stock is quoting at Rs 271.4, up 1.16% on the day. Coal India Ltd is down 4.75% in last one year as compared to a 2.73% jump in NIFTY and a 10.97% jump in the Nifty Metal index.

The PE of the stock is 17.76 based on TTM earnings ending June 18.
